چکیده

Immunomodulators, modify the activity of immune function through the impulsive modulation of informational molecules such as cytokines. This may propose an explanation of the effects of herbs on the immune system and other tissues. The immune system is a part of body to find the pathogen by using a specific receptor to create instantly response by the activation of immune components cells, cytokines, chemokines and also release of inflammatory mediator. The aim of this review is to highlight the work on cytokines as targets for immnomodulation and also provides the knowledge on the recent research update. The selection of papers was made using the relevant databases for the biomedical sciences. Cytokines are small glycosylated polypeptides used in the treatment of immune disorders, cancer and various other related diseases. Cytokines are good candidates for plant made pharmaceuticals because the clinical use of cytokines is limited by high production costs. This review provides insights into the future research in this area.

P 115: Potential Therapeutic Targets Related to Neuroinflammation in Treatment and Prevention of Autism

Autism spectrum disorder (ASD) is a mental condition, present from early childhood, characterized by great difficulty in communicating and forming relationships with others and using language. In the last four decades many studies have shown that immune responses in different regions of brain play an important role in ASD pathogenicity. A conservative estimate based on the research suggests tha...

P 107: P2x7 Receptors: as a Novel Targets for the Treatment of Neuroinflammation

P2x7 receptors are Purineric receptors that are extracellular ATP-gated ion channel. These receptors require high dose or prolonged exposure to ATP for initial activation. The Activation of these receptors facilitates the formation of inflammasome which activates caspase 1. The P20 and P10 subunits of caspase 1 form active enzyme that then releases active interleukin (IL)-1 β and IL-18, tu...

Lung-derived innate cytokines: new epigenetic targets of allergen-specific sublingual immunotherapy

Objective(s):Sublingual allergen-specific immunotherapy is a safe and effective method for treatment of IgE-mediated respiratory allergies; however, the underlying mechanisms are not fully understood. This study was planned to test whether sublingual immunotherapy (SLIT) can exert epigenetic mechanisms through which the airway allergic responses can be extinguished. Materials and Methods:BALB/c...

Cytokines as new treatment targets in chronic heart failure

Inflammatory cytokines may negatively influence contractility and contribute to the remodelling process in the failing myocardium. Traditional cardiovascular drugs appear to have little influence on the overall cytokine network in chronic heart failure (CHF). Increased interest in anticytokine therapy has therefore evolved. Several small studies have used tumour necrosis factor (TNF)-alpha as a...
